USA ROCK · BULK MATERIAL DELIVERY
Compare gravel, crushed rock and base materials
Choose bulk rock by composition, shape, grading and unit. A project label, a photo or a familiar number only answers part of the buying question.
USA ROCK sells full loads of bulk landscape and construction materials and coordinates fulfillment through independent material suppliers and delivery providers. Availability, the final delivered price and delivery arrangements require confirmation for your address.
Start with composition and shape
Limestone, granite, river material and recycled concrete are different compositions. Crushed rock has a different form from rounded pebble. A shared use such as driveway, walkway or drainage does not erase those differences or authorize a substitute.
For example, the Tucson catalog separates Apache Brown — Screened 3/8 inch from Arizona River Pebble — 3/8 inch. The first is crushed rock and the second is rounded river material. Their nominal size is similar, but the material identity and surface appearance differ. Use the exact catalog selection and explain any contractor requirement rather than asking for whichever gravel looks close.
Read nominal size and numbered grade together
An inch size describes a nominal size or range. A numbered product name identifies a particular catalog grade, but it does not provide a current grading certificate. Matching an inch description to a numbered material requires more than finding similar words.
Tampa’s #57 Limerock — 3/4–1 inch and Salt and Pepper Granite #67 differ in composition as well as name. San Antonio’s Limestone Base (Dust–3/4") includes smaller material that a washed-stone request may not allow. If a project standard controls the order, include it and ask which supplying product and documentation can meet it.
Screened, washed, clean and minus are not synonyms
Screening sorts material by size; the product can still contain smaller particles or dust. Washing is a separate detail to confirm. A clean-sounding name does not establish a dust-free load. In the Las Vegas catalog, the larger clean screened rock may retain light dust from dry screening.
Minus describes a range including smaller material, as in Tucson’s Decomposed Granite — 1/4 inch minus. Base products may intentionally include fines. Ask how those details fit the project rather than assuming that every rock should have the same condition. A drainage specification and a compacted-base specification can call for different material characteristics.
Keep recycled products and soils distinct
Crushed concrete and asphalt millings are different recycled materials. A road-base use does not make them interchangeable with limestone or a certified numbered grade. Tell USA ROCK whether recycled material is acceptable and what size or composition the plans require.
The same care applies to soil. Screening describes size control; enrichment describes added ingredients. Planting Mix, Top Soil Enriched and a soil-compost blend are not simply alternate spellings of plain topsoil. Mulch and compost are also separate choices. Read the local product description rather than carrying a material name from one metro into another.
Check the unit before comparing loads
Tons measure weight and cubic yards measure volume. The current catalog keeps each selection’s native quote unit; even similarly named soils may use different units across markets. Do not compare two quantities as equivalent until their units and material identities match.
If your measurements are in cubic yards and the product is sold in tons, ask for the quantity basis to be checked using the actual material. A universal gravel conversion is not reliable enough to define an order. The quantity and delivery guide explains the rectangular volume calculation and the access details to gather.
Turn the comparison into a clear request
Choose your actual metro and material, then complete the contact and full delivery-address steps before viewing an available estimate. Add the required size, color, washing, grading and any acceptable alternatives. A photo is a reference, and an amount based on a nearby ZIP remains an estimate.
USA ROCK reviews the supplying product and delivery before emailing an approved quote with the final amount, quantity, date and local ETA range. Check those details and the policies before choosing payment through the private Stripe link. A material guide, estimate or inquiry does not establish stock or reserve a truck.
Common questions
Is pea gravel always the same as small crushed stone?
No. Pea gravel in these catalog selections is rounded river material, while crushed stone has a different shape and may have different composition and fines. A similar nominal size does not make them the same product.
Does clean rock mean washed rock?
Not automatically. A clean screened product can retain dust from dry screening. Confirm the current product’s washing and fines condition when those details matter.
Can I pick the closest-looking photo as a substitute?
A reference photo cannot establish equivalent composition, grading, size or suitability. Ask USA ROCK to review any substitution against the actual material requirement before agreeing to the load.
Request your delivery quote
Start with your ZIP code, choose a material and load, and add your contact and full delivery details. Review your estimate, then choose Request confirmation to send an inquiry. USA ROCK confirms the final price, supply and delivery arrangements before sending an approved quote and secure payment link. An inquiry alone does not reserve delivery or take payment.
