USA ROCK · BULK MATERIAL DELIVERY
Bulk material delivery: quantity, units and truck access
A useful bulk-material request includes more than a product name. Bring the dimensions, the correct load unit and a clear description of where the truck would unload.
USA ROCK sells full loads of bulk landscape and construction materials and coordinates fulfillment through independent material suppliers and delivery providers. Availability, the final delivered price and delivery arrangements require confirmation for your address.
Measure volume without choosing an installation depth
For a rectangular area, multiply length in feet by width in feet by depth in inches, then divide by 324 to estimate cubic yards. Measure separate sections individually and add their volumes. Irregular shapes and changes in grade need more care than one length-and-width measurement.
For example, 20 feet by 10 feet at 3 inches is about 1.85 cubic yards before any allowance for compaction or waste. The 3-inch depth is a calculation example, not an installation recommendation. Your contractor or project plan should establish the material, finished depth and any allowance. The site calculator measures volume; it does not design a driveway, drainage system or foundation.
Tons measure weight; cubic yards measure volume
Keep the unit shown beside the selected material. Rock and many sand selections use tons. Compost, mulch and some soil blends use cubic yards, while other soils are listed by the ton. The product name alone does not tell you its sale unit.
Do not turn the calculator’s cubic-yard result into tons using one universal multiplier. Material composition, grading and moisture can change bulk density. If you only know the area and depth, include those measurements and ask USA ROCK to confirm the quantity basis for the actual product. A photo, a nominal rock size and a neighboring product’s unit are not a supported weight conversion.
Describe the truck route and unloading spot
Tell us about the entrance, gates, tight turns, overhead lines, branches, slopes and soft ground. Explain whether the proposed spot is on a driveway, a public road or another surface. Mark and disclose hidden utilities, irrigation and other hazards you control. Do not assume that an ordinary vehicle’s access means a loaded delivery truck can use the same route.
Have the customer or an authorized representative present. The driver and delivery provider retain discretion to refuse an unsafe maneuver and choose the safest lawful curbside unloading option under the delivery policy. Ask about a special placement requirement before agreeing to the quote. Bulk delivery does not, by itself, include spreading or installation.
Request a date without assuming a reservation
The earliest date you can request is two calendar days after today in the delivery location’s local time. Weekends count toward that lead time. A requested date is a preference, not a confirmed truck appointment, and it may change during supplier and delivery review.
Include any schedule constraints in the inquiry. After review, the approved quote identifies the confirmed date and local ETA range. Check those details before payment and have the site ready for that window. Read the cancellation policy before arranging changes; a chat message or an unsent form does not cancel an order.
What to have ready for your inquiry
Complete the contact and address steps before viewing an available estimate. If the amount uses a nearby ZIP, it remains a labeled estimate. Submit the inquiry for owner review; the final delivered amount and fulfillment details must be confirmed before an approved quote and private Stripe payment link are emailed.
- The actual delivery ZIP and full street address, plus a working name, email and phone number.
- The selected product, quantity and native unit; add grading or contractor requirements in the notes.
- Entrance and unloading constraints, a requested date, and any scheduling information that affects the job.
Common questions
How many cubic yards are in a ton of gravel?
There is no single conversion for every material. A ton measures weight and a cubic yard measures volume. USA ROCK needs the actual product and a supported density basis before converting a volume measurement into tons.
Does the calculator include compaction or waste?
The rectangular calculator estimates volume from dimensions. It does not choose the installation depth or automatically establish allowances for compaction, uneven ground or waste. Confirm those with your project plan or contractor.
Can I request delivery tomorrow?
The date picker starts two calendar days after today in the delivery location’s local time. A selectable date still needs supplier and delivery confirmation; it is not a guaranteed appointment.
Request your delivery quote
Start with your ZIP code, choose a material and load, and add your contact and full delivery details. Review your estimate, then choose Request confirmation to send an inquiry. USA ROCK confirms the final price, supply and delivery arrangements before sending an approved quote and secure payment link. An inquiry alone does not reserve delivery or take payment.
